Since 1988, Paul Smith has developed and led the Congenital Hand Surgery service at Great Ormond Street Hospital and gone on to practice at the Portland Hospital in London, taking with him the experienced medical team he had spent time developing.He is proficient in delivering a wide spectrum of children’s hand surgical procedures, including congenital transverse amputation, symbrachydactyly, radial club hand, ulnar club hand, syndactyly, acrocephalosyndactyly’s such as Apert’s Syndrome, hypoplasia (especially thumb hypoplasia), duplication and Ring Constriction Syndrome. Aesthetic & Cosmetic Surgery
Paul Smith spent a significant amount of time at Duke University in North Carolina where he received extensive aesthetic surgical training. Skin Cancer
Paul Smith has over 38 years’ experience as an expert consultant in the management of all varieties of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas and melanomas. From encountering numerous cases, Paul would always advise that patients are seen by a plastic surgeon immediately if an excision of a lesion is required in order to achieve a wide enough clearance, and also if reconstruction with local flaps or a skin graft is necessary.
